WELL..

After being away for the weekend...to Mackay to visit some lovely friends...i am now feeling CRAP!! sore throat, sneezes, cough & I think now I have a headache!! Great I love it.
Well...this is just a little nothing post but hope you like this pic...

My sister might appreciate this pic of the waterlilly, she took some fantastic ones, much better then this one but I do love those flowers!
The next LO is for White with 1...
The criteria was White + cream/neutrals + vintage embellies. I used a pic of the kids & I when we walked up Mt Nygungun a few years ago.
The next is for the Twist comp over at
http://www.123scrapbook.com.au/forum/index.php

Its for Round 4 - Use texture paste on your LO, the twist was to use texture paste on the background & on an embellishment somehow. This is what I came up :0) I took these pics the other day, just mucking around with the camera.
Last pic of the day tomorrow ;0)

VERY very slack...

Well....i have been slack!!
I've been taking my pics of the day but just not quite getting them uploaded.
Anyway here they are only one more to go today!!

#23
A typical Sunday arvo for me is spent scrappin, today was no different :0) I had a sketch to get done & found a great pic of Miss T to scrap & used some pp that I'd bought on a whim FINALLY!

Pic # 24
WHAT THE?? Its August 24 & look at the temp!! In the 30s & this little one read 38!! Ok...it was is full sun on the back deck but still it was HOT today, hottest day on record.

Pic # 25
Well..today annoyed me!! Went to the shops, its hot & I decided I would have a look & see what shorts were around because if you don't get them at the start of the season you can't get any in season!! Whats with that?? Anyway found some I liked had to try them on cause you never know, they fitted after several trys but look at the sizes that I ended up with!! A size 10 & a size 14, you've got to be kidding me!!! :0( whats with Aust clothes sizing?????

Pic # 26
If only there wasn't power lines & street signs...wouldn't it be a great sun-set! Just imagine that there not there. Oh well...sunset in the city :0) from the front of my house.

Pic # 27

Treated myself & got my nails done :0) made me happy so I went for a walk on the beach before picking A up from school. The water was nice & beach was lovely, as usual! I should go there more often...maybe in summer I need to make that happen!!

Pic #28
We are off on a weekend away...just me & S! Off to see some friends that moved to Mackay & for the boys to go to a car thing!!
Here we come Carltons!! look out :0)

Pic #29
What a day...the shopping is great in Mackay!! Bargains galore I tell you!! & found this amazing party shop, I've not seen anything like it!!! if they don't have it I doubt you can get it!! FANTASTIC but back to the pic....Its the wallpaper in the ladies toilets at the Magpies Club in Mackay!! Once again a first for me...firstly I've not been to a club where the toilet cubicles are each a separate little bathroom - bench, basin, mirror, toilet all in the one stall & very nice! What a great idea - maybe I need to get out more!! Also I can honestly say this is also the first time I've taken a photo in a bathroom, its not the norm ;0)

Pic #30
WOW...Our lovely host took us for a quick trip around Mackay, up to the lookout at Slade Point - oh I can't remember I don't know if that's right!! Anyway over looking the beach & down in the back is the sugar mills where the ships come in to pick it up! Perfect weather & the water was just lovely & so clear!!

update..update..update..

first a quick catch-up
photo #21

Here's some cards that I made at Tracey's house at a Stampin' Up do! Love the fruit one...used some of the cool pens they have to colour the stamps in & stamp that way, you get a really nice colour & are able to have different coloured parts of the image. Very nice...it was a great night & had lots of laughs & choc biscuits & iced-vovos.
photo #22
I took over the telly {& the lounge...its a very comfy spot to be in!!} after discovering that Shear Genius was on! It was on for a few episodes but I think I must have dozed off a couple of times....woke up to find them cutting hair of some very good looking surfers on the beach :0) got love that!!
anyway...here's some scrappin..

a LO just cause, i like this pic of Miss T & her friend, they had so much fun at this party. It was a cowboy theme & had games & costumes to go with the theme, great fun!
& the next LO is for the 123 Scrapbook TWIST comp.
This LO is for Round 3...Use Rubons but not on pp or CS.

So I made an overlay from 12x12 sheet of acetate & used some of the new Basic Grey Junebug Rubons & some very old MM Doodle rubons.
Here's a closer look at it....the pic is of the kids & their half-brothers last holidays!

This one is the base of the LO with the overlay lifted up, I made a hinge for it out of pp.

Friday again...

I almost can't believe it...don't know where the days have gone or what I've actually done to get to Friday already!!
Got lots of scrappin done, most of it I can't show just yet...a few weeks & you can see what delish papers I got to scrap with this month from SWV. http://shopping.scrapbookingwithvanessa.com.au/
Also managed to whip this little beauty up today while I was waiting for the car to be fixed!!
Its my LO for the August challenge over at Black with 2 http://blackwith2challenge.blogspot.com/
The criteria was...Dominant Black + Yellow + Aqua +
Hand cut embellishment and Flourishes.
Miss T took this pic of A while they were at Underwater World in Mooloolaba, he's standing in a peep hole that's built into the aquarium. Pretty cool I think & its a pretty good photo considering its taken through glass, then water, then glass!! If you look real close you can see star fish on the right of the glass & some fish swimming around in there.

& speaking of fish...
Meet Izzy & he is photo #20
He has come to stay with us while Phillipa is away for the weekend!! He's a very nice fish & eats a lot...nearly jumps out of hte bowl & catches his food. I only hope I don't kill him before the weekend is out! Fingers crossed ;0)

Its Tuesday....

& that means 'Casserole Tuesday'

This year A proclaimed that every Tuesday night we should have a casserole for dinner. So tonight we have Rich Lamb Casserole - packet mix said beef but I had lamb & so thats what they get & it tasted just the same ;0)
It all started while he was on holidays with Ma at the beach, he liked the casserole that she had made for dinner so much he suggested that she make one the next Tuesday for dinner & so the story goes...'Casserole Tuesday'

....introducing.....

Basil & Parsley

aren't they cute!!
& with any luck they will actually grow.
We got the free seeds from a stand at the EKKA, free soil from the man we know at the landscape yard & already had the pot at home - it's been empty for years!! I made those cute little tags from an old xray sheet package & used some Staz-on Ink & my new BasicGrey stamps (how cute are they) & Heidi Swapp letters that I've had since last December (& this is their first use too!!!). We also planted Sunflowers seeds that the kids got from the EKKA & they are growing happily aswell!
The fun of EKKA lives on in our house long after the actual event :0)
So, the blue-eyed girl & green-eyed boy make photo #17.

http://www.123scrapbook.com.au/forum/index.php

My LO for the 123 Scrap Twist Competition...this time you had to use Glitter and Embossing Powders and the Twist is No Flowers on your layout.
I used glitter pp, ribbon & alphas as my GLITTER & stamped on acetate & embossed with UTEE powder as my EMBOSSING POWDERS. Pic of A is perfect for no flowers.

This LO is for the new sketch over here http://craftysketches.blogspot.com/

gotta love a freebie!!

photo #13
Thank-u Mr Woolworth's!! AGAIN!!! I got another free mag courtesy of Woolworth's scanning policy this arvo, I think that makes 3 free mags in the last few months. You know the policy, if it scans for more then whats on the ticket you get it for free. I think that deserves a place in the August photos :0)

& some EKKA photos

There was a free Rock climbing wall - thanks everyone for paying their Taxes as it was sponsered by the QLD government, as part of their 'got your 30?' - 30mins of exercise a day program. The kids loved it anyway!! Miss T made it to the top.

A scooted up the top no worries at all...this was him on the way down!

Playing scientist, in the Science Week Pavilion, where we spent a couple of hours!! He had so much fun in there doing all the experiments & looking at the displays.

Waiting for the ride to start...

Had to be quick to get his shot...lucked it really!! They loved the ride but didn't go on anymore, they choose to spend their money on more showbags instead.

Here we are waiting for the train to take us home, we were all very tired...obviously me more so then the kids :0)
Side-show alley is right beside the train platform, looks so nice at night.
Anyway..so far no-one has grown a piggy tail & I haven't heard any snorting so we must have left the Swine Flu bug at the EKKA.

oh...the temptation...

photo #12

See what I have to contend with...a big bag of m&m's!! My darling sister gave them to me amongst a huge bag of pressies for my birthday. I have...or should say HAD resisted until tonight to open the packet. So I guess looking at them for 5 days is pretty good. You can't see but on 'Yellows' butt 'Red' has put a sticky note that reads EAT ME! okay & thye are delish :0)
& heres some scrappin...from the Scrap with V CC
This on was done using Ness's sketch & you weren't allowed to use pink. Pic is of beautiful Miss T.

THe DT chall...Use purple - lots of flowers - lace & colour change it - foam mount tape - handmade embellie. Another pic of Miss T in her new dress!!

For Jodi's chall I did this LO - had to use a 'Vintage' photo of yourself - this one is my brother holding me when I was a baby - & some vintage jewellery or buttons. I raided my Sisters button jar for those beauties!!

This one was done during Lindy's Mystery Chall..its nothing like it should be but boy was that class a laugh!! Can't wait to see how it should look!! Pic is of S & I a few years ago off to a ball.

http://discoverscrapbooking.blogspot.com/2009/07/our-very-first-sketch-challenge.html
That's where the inspiration came from to make this LO, a LSS has got their first sketch chall up & i gave it a go. Pics are of the 5 generations that we had when Miss T was born. I think she was 6 days old in these pics.

http://dagswithlives.blogspot.com/2009/08/cherish-your-friends-crop.html & theres a lovely photo of me her aswell!! I look GREAT...be prepared!!!
That's where I did this LO, spent the day at a fundraiser scrap day for the Cancer Council, I think about $500 was raised on the day - I know my wallet was EMPTY but I was lucky enough to win a couple of prizes so YAY to me!! Anyway the LO - it was a chall pack that we all received & you had to use most of the products in the pack & you could add some things to it too. Also order a very cool bag from the organiser - Toni! There is a sneak on her blog too!! Can't wait to get it & show it off!! VERY NICE INDEED!!!

Its's EKKA time in Brissey & the kids & I went today (Monday 10/8). Had a fantastic time...left home at 8.15am & got home at 7.20pm!! HUGE DAY & my legs are tired from walking from one side of that show & back several times!! Saw lots, got lots of junk & had a ball, the 'I 'heart' Brisbane' stand had a wall filled with leaves & people that you could write a message on - the kids left their mark but I bought mine home for future scrappin use ;0).

I spent the day scrappin' with some lovely ladies & delish cupcakes to help raise much needed funds for the cancer council! Here's a pic of the 'double choc-chip with choc fondue icing & violet crumble' cupcake. Special thanks to my hand-model Pippy.

A's last footy game was this morning... & a beautiful warm winter morning it was. He played out on the wing & although they got thrashed 48 - 6 (thank-goodness it wasn't 0!!) it was a pretty good game. He even managed to receive a players award form the coach, so YAY for him! I finally remembered to take the camera & got some great pics of him on the field in amongst the action.

More tomorrow.

a little bit of scrappin & a happy day...

Well...you knew one of the daily photos would have to be of me didn't you ;0) & it had to be today....So here's #6
Here's me celebrating my day with a nice glass of wine, after a lovely dinner cooked by S, delish choc cake made by Miss T - thanks Aunty Relle ;0) & beautiful table setting by A. xx
ANYWAY....what you think of this LO...
The criteria was to use PAINT & RAW CHIPBOARD on your project. I used a Prima Paintables as a base & used water-colour paint to paint it, MM paints on the corro CS to whitewash it & to stamp with bubblewrap behind the RAW CHIPBOARD tree (from Scrapware..isn't it nice) & to make 'clouds' in the background. I used RAW CHIPBOARD heart & Bella RAW chipies alphas too. & lots of other stuff...gotta use more of the stuff I have around here!!

The pic is of me & my sister & brother last year when we had family pics done.
Heres what that LO's all in-aid of...I decided to join in on the action over here...
